Cabinets

This week we have installed our new cabinets. Now the kitchen is really starting to take shape.

This kitchen is a gentle blend of new and old. The contemporary architectural design floods the room with natural light that is reflected off the stainless steel appliances and polished granite. The traditional side is found in the simple, honest lines of the shaker style door with a warm glazed finish. The functional 360 degree kitchen plan is punctuated with use of cabinetry of varying heights and depths.

The layout of the kitchen is wide open Texas size. The generous center island contains a secondary vegetable sink along with specialized storage for pots and pans and even a special divided area for multiple rolling pins. A unique canine dining area is built into one end of the island and provides food and bowl storage as well as a granite covered eating area. A pair of countertop to crown pocketing doors on the diagonal wall open to reveal a large baking area with worktop and abundant storage. It is flanked on the right by a tall open bookcase . A matching pair of pocketing doors on the opposite side of the room conceal a built-in TV that is easily viewed while working at the island. Large areas of granite countertop surround the sink and cooktop and an additional large serving area fronts the breakfast room.

Multiple appliances allow for multiple cooks. The appliance package includes two dishwashers, two trash compactors, two warming drawers, double oven, wine cooler and ice machine as well as built in refrigeration and commercial cooktop. Friends and family are the key ingredients for a great meal and this kitchen has plenty of room for all to join in.
